The Existential-Humanistic Institute (EHI) - subprogram of Pacific Institute - will be holding its 2nd annual conference from November 13 through 15, 2008 at the First Unitarian Univeraslist Church & Center in San Francisco. Inspired by Saybrook Graduate School's Dr. James Bugental, the EHI offers training that utilizes some of the foremost existential therapy instructors in the country. These seasoned instructors have trained extensively with such masters as Rollo May, James Bugental, and Irvin Yalom.
Objectives & Goals of the Conference:
1. To learn the basic assumptions underlying existential-humanistic (EH) psychotherapy;
2. To connect EH assumptions to therapeutic interventions as illuminated through "live" work with active cases, demonstrations, video, and the use of literature and metaphor;
3. To learn how to effectively work in the here and now with yourself,your client, and in the relation between, as well as with your working environments and the world;
4. To learn the art of using EH principles as the guiding focus of your style of relating to yourself and the world.
